When you are remodeling your bathroom countertops, there are a lot of options to choose from, all with different aesthetic properties, monetary investment, and resale values. With all of these types of countertops, how are you supposed to choose?

How to Choose Bathroom Countertops

The first thing you want to look for is what you want your countertop to look like. Do you want a design of some sort, like decorative tiles or crushed glass? A flat color like concrete or plain tiles? A natural look, like laminate or natural stone? Do you want a matte material or a shiny one? All of these questions will have wildly different answers depending on your aesthetic preferences and the look of the rest of the bathroom.

Once you know what you want out of your bathroom countertops, it’s time to look at the prices. Materials like laminate and tile will be on the more affordable end, giving your countertops a nice look for a low price. However, materials like natural stone and quartz will give you more durability and natural elegance for a higher price point.

Once you have compared your aesthetic preferences to your budget and have narrowed your list down to what you can do and would like, a third thing that might be helpful to consider, depending on your priorities, is what a material’s resale value will be. Unsurprisingly, the more expensive options are usually the most durable and valuable, making them more attractive when reselling.
